Our Commitment to Your Privacy

BenefitCheck Ireland is designed with privacy at its core. We believe your financial information should stay yours, completely.

This policy covers two things: the BenefitCheck Ireland app, and this website, benefitcheckireland.ie. Both are operated by NoviNine Entertainment Limited (CRO 797745), Dublin, Ireland. The app itself collects no data. If you email us feedback, we receive that email (see "Feedback, sharing and ratings" below). The website uses analytics, explained in the "This Website" section below.

The App: What It Doesn't Collect

  • No Personal Data: The app doesn't collect or transmit any personal information. If you choose to email us, we receive only what you send (see "Feedback, sharing and ratings").
  • No Account Required: No registration, no login, no user accounts.
  • No Tracking: No analytics, cookies, or third-party tracking services in the app.
  • No Advertising: No ads or advertising networks in the app, and we don't sell data.
  • No App Servers: Your income and household data never leave your device.

The App: How Your Data Stays Private

🔒 100% On-Device Processing

All calculations are performed entirely on your device. The details you enter, such as your income, household and county, are used for the check you are doing and are never sent anywhere.

📱 No Internet Connection Needed

The app's checks work offline, including in airplane mode, because we never send your data anywhere. If you tap a link to an official source or form, it opens in your browser, and that website's own privacy policy applies.

The App: What Is Stored on Your Phone

  • Anything the app saves stays on your phone and is never sent to us
  • The app saves one thing on your phone: your progress in the Apply guide (the steps you mark done, the checklist items you tick, and which steps you have open). Your income, household size and county are not kept between sessions
  • Deleting the app removes your saved progress from your phone
  • Nothing is backed up to our servers, because the app has no servers

Feedback, sharing and ratings

From version 1.4.0 the app lets you email us, share a link to the app, and rate it. The app itself still sends nothing.

  • Tell us what you think of the app and Send feedback open your own email app with a new message to support@benefitcheckireland.ie. The subject includes the app version and whether you use iOS or Android. If you start the email from a result, the subject also names that check: Housing, Medical Card or Rent Tax Credit. Nothing is sent unless you send it. If you do, we receive your email address, the subject and what you write. We use them only to read and reply to your feedback and to improve the app, and we delete feedback emails 12 months after we receive them. Please don't include your PPS number or other personal details.
  • Share this app opens your phone's share options with a short message and a link to this website. Your answers are not included.
  • Rate the app, and the rating request the app may show after you have used it, are provided by the App Store or Google Play. A rating or review you give goes to Apple or Google under their terms. The app does not receive it.

This Website

This website, benefitcheckireland.ie, is separate from the app. It uses two analytics services to measure visits and how the site is used, for example which pages are read, podcast plays, and taps on the App Store and Google Play buttons:

We use this information only to understand how the website is used. Nothing you do on this website is linked to the app, and the app sends nothing to either service.

Third-Party Links

The BenefitCheck Ireland app and this website contain links to official Irish government websites (for example, local authority housing pages, Citizens Information, gov.ie and Revenue). When you follow these links, you leave the app or this website and are subject to those websites' privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

The BenefitCheck Ireland app collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this policy and the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
